Frequently Asked Questions.

What flowers do you grow on the farm?

In early 2025 we grew cool season hardy annuals, which grow in the early spring and very early summer. Those included snapdragons, bupleurum, and orlaya. We have over 100 peony bushes that bloomed in late April / early Mary and we loved the pink and white flowers they produced. Once it warmed up, we moved to growing warm season annuals that include sunflowers, zinnias, various types of celosia, marigolds, dill bouquet, and Mrs. Burns Lemon Basil. Our perennials include yarrow, eucalyptus, echinacea and dahlias. Our woodies include a variety of young hydrangeas.

Do you grow in a greenhouse?

We do not grow in a greenhouse, but we recently installed a high tunnel (2025). This will allow us to extend our growing season so we will have flowers earlier in the spring and later into the Fall. Some flowers grow best in a protected environment so we will be trialing stock, ranunculus and lisianthus, to name a few, in the tunnel. We will let you know how it goes!

How do I make my flowers last longer in a vase?

The best things to do to make your flowers last as long as possible include:

  • change the water every other day

  • keep them away from heat sources, strong sunlight and fruit

  • if you can, put them in the refrigerator overnight

  • strip all leaves off the stems that will be below the water line

  • trim the ends of the stems a little every few days

  • add a little bit of the package of flower food you receive with your flowers

. . . and know that some flowers simply have a longer or shorter vase life than others.

Do you do special orders?

We are happy to help you with special orders, depending on what is needed. For instance, we are happy to make up a special bouquet, straight bunches, and even deliver to some locations. However, we do not do weddings, but we can give you some wonderful referrals.
